CJ Wildlife Customers Help To Create Wildlife Garden At RSPCA Centre
17 January 2012
As a result of the generous donations from our customers, we were delighted to present the RSPCA with a contribution of £18,000. The cheque was presented to Cathy Snow from the RSPCA and staff at the Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre in Cheshire. The voluntary donations were collected from our mail order customers.
Plans are in place to utilise the money at Stapeley Grange, just 30 miles from the CJ head office in Shropshire. The centre is the busiest of the 4 RSPCA wildlife centres, dealing with thousands of birds and animals every year. The vision is to create an educational wildlife garden which will be used by local schools to educate children about the importance of caring for wildlife and how rewarding it can be. Centre Manager, Lee Stewart, said "We are unbelievably grateful to the customers of CJ Wildlife for their kindness. This has given us the funds needed to start the education project that has been in the planning stages for some time. We hope to have the education centre set up by September 2012, and are already in conversations with the charity WildAid who are helping us find an experienced education officer for the facility".
In addition, the donation will help towards providing a wildlife assistant for the hospital during the busy summer months. The much needed extra pair of hands could literally be a life saver for many of the sick and injured birds and animals that will pass through the centre.
We will continue raising funds for RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre to ensure the projects are a success and have pledged to offer on-going support to the centre. Sign up to our newsletter or follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest project updates.
