Browser Tips

These web pages are compatible with all modern browers. If you are using an older web browser the pages may not display correctly.

You can download the latest version of your preferred web browser from one of the following locations:

• Internet Explorer 6 (SP1)
• Mozilla/Firefox
• Opera
• Netscape 7
• Safari (Apple OSX default browser)
• konqueror (for KDE)

Alternatively many computer magazines provide the latest web browsers free on their cover CDs.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your PC that allow information to be transferred across different pages of a web site.

If you are having problems with the online shop it may be that you do not have cookies enabled; they are used by our shop to "remember" the contents of your basket.

There are many things that can block cookies, firewalls, virus checkers and browser add-ons (like IE toolbars) as well as your own browser settings, all eventualities cannot be covered here. However to ensure that cookies are enabled in Internet Explorer:

Load IE and click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options. In the Privacy section ensure that the setting is at medium (or make alterations by clicking on either the Advanced or Edit buttons).

Cookie permissions in other browsers can often be altered in a similar manner.

We will acknowledge your complaint by letter or email within five working days and we aim to resolve complaints with 14 working days. If, for some reason, we are unable to resolve the issue within the deadline we will keep in contact with you to explain the situation.

Delivery

We pride ourselves on our delivery service and aim to despatch all orders on the working day after they are received by us.

Our priority delivery service ensures that orders to most mainland areas of the UK will be delivered the next working day after the despatch date. For example, an order placed on Monday would leave us on Tuesday and be delivered to you on Wednesday.

Please Note: deliveries are made Monday to Friday, excludes Bank Holidays.

Postage and packing costs ?2.25 per order. Within the UK your order will be delivered to you by ANC Express.

Please note that small items weighing less than 2kg will be sent packet post.

Ordering from Outside the UK

We welcome orders from outside the UK - delivery time and price will be confirmed once your order has been received. We guarantee to charge postage only at the cost to us. Orders from outside the UK may be subject to local import restrictions.

JavaScript

In order to view our on-line shop correctly, browsers must support and have javascript enabled.

If JavaScript is supported by your browser, but you are still having problems it may be disabled.

To check whether JavaScript has been enabled in Internet Explorer, click Tools on the menu bar at the top of the browser window, Internet Options, select the Security tab and click the Custom Level... button. Scroll through the settings and check that Scripting of Java applets has been enabled.

JavaScript can be enabled/disabled in the options or preferences of most browsers in a similar manner.

We would like to retain your details to fulfil your order, for internal marketing, research and analysis and to contact you about products and services from CJ WildBird Foods, Subbuteo Natural History Books and BirdGuides.

If you do not want us to use your information in this way, please contact us by post, telephone, fax, or email marketing@birdfood.co.uk.

We do not sell or make available your details to any third party for its own use.

We do not send random marketing emails to personal email addresses (spam).

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

• address
• phone number
• email address
• credit/debit card details

We aim to ensure that information we hold will be accurate and up-to-date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct them.

We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.

If you know the product code of the item you wish to order, simply enter it into the product search box. Alternatively use any key words to search for the item. The navigation bar on the left allows you to browse via product categories.

Returns & Guarantee

We want you to be happy every time you shop with us. Occasionally though, we know you may want to return items.

For all items:

Our "no quibbles" guarantee means that if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you should call us within 14 days to arrange return; we will replace the item or issue a full refund for the price you paid for the item.

Defective items:

You can always return items if they are defective. Please note: we only accept returns of items that have been opened if they are defective. Please see below for details of how to return defective items to us.

If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because it is defective, we will be happy to refund any delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and your costs in returning it to us.

To return an item:

If you wish to return an item, please inform us by calling 0800 731 2820. Wrap the package securely and send it to the address below, enclosing a note giving your contact details and the reason for the return. In the case of a defective product, please also provide a full description of the fault.

For your protection we recommend that you use a recorded-delivery service.

This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Cancelling an item:

Under the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of any item within 7 working days, beginning the day after the delivery date.

If you decide to cancel, please inform us by calling 0800 731 2820 and then return the goods to us unopened and in their original condition.

This applies to all our products. However, we regret that we cannot accept cancellations of contracts for items where the packaging has been opened.

To cancel your contract, return the item to us with the delivery note and a note confirming that you wish to cancel, and stating your contact details and customer number.

Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error or the item is faulty.

If we arrange for the items to be collected we will deduct the cost of doing so from the amount refunded. As soon as we receive notice of your cancellation of this order, we will refund the purchase price for that item within 30 days.

Security

The CJ WildBird Foods Online Shop uses industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and server certification to ensure secure transactions.

Delivery and payment details are not stored on the secure server and are sent to us in encrypted form. In response to customer demand we have now modified the design of our secure pages slightly so that the "padlock" symbol indicating a secure site displays prominently in the browser window. Clicking on this symbol will display more detailed security information.
