The Alpine Columbine produces its delightful blue blooms from late spring to mid-summer. The outer petals are initially deep blue, maturing to light blue; the inner petals are yellow-white and blue at the base. Bees and other pollinating insects find this plant very attractive.
Suitable for planting in a rock garden or as a group in a shady border. It can also be grown in a container along with other plants: use an ericaceous compost and keep moist at all times.
Perennials are plants that live for more than 2 years, generally flowering annually and dying back during the winter. Our range has been specially selected to help you create colourful displays in your garden which will attract and benefit insects such as butterflies and bees. Choosing a variety of plants that flower at different times will help to ensure your garden looks beautiful and sustains the wildlife across the seasons.
