Fennel

Fennel is an ornamental herb which is suited to both garden borders and vegetable patches. This perennial plant has fine leaves with tiny blooms of yellow flowers spanning the stems from May to August. Whist the flowers attract insects, the aromatic seeds that follow are eaten by birds. The whole plant smells delicious and can be harvested for various culinery uses.
