Head of Business Systems

CJ Wildbird Foods Ltd., which is based near Shrewsbury in Shropshire, is Europe’s leading supplier of wildlife products. Founded in 1987 the company has a turnover in excess of £23m and is active in the UK and 10 countries in Europe. With the head office, and back office, in Shropshire our ERP system, Sage 1000 v4 serves call centres in Shrewsbury, Holland, Denmark and Sweden. Our customers are both B2B and B2C and we have very strong associations with wildlife charities in Europe providing websites and distribution facilities from our two warehouses in Holland.

We are now hiring for a Head of Business Systems based at our Shrewsbury office: 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining bespoke software
  • Building strong relationships of internal and external customers
  • Liaising with second line software support teams
  • Liaising with second line hardware support teams
  • Liaising with end users in the UK, Holland and Denmarl
  • Writing complex SQL queries, triggers, stored procedures, views etc
  • Creating and Maintaining SSRS reports
  • Maintenance of Sage ERP, Sage CRM and Sage Inventory Advisor
  • Qlikview Report Maintenance
  • Knowledge of Excel data manipulation e.g. pivot tables, vlookup
  • New User/PC setup
  • Basic Active Directory/Exchange Maintenance within an Office 365 environment
  • Basic server administration
  • Mentoring an apprentice
  • Working with users to identify the next generation of ERP software

Personal Attributes:

The successful candidate must have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Proven experience of managing an IT support team
  • Experience with Sage 1000 and Sage CRM
  • Understanding the processes involved with supply chain management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Strong organisational skills & the ability to prioritise workload

Hours and Salary: 

  • Salary negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Hours 8.30am – 5pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am–4pm Friday
