The flower crown of this native Macedonian Scabious is a beautiful pin-cushion of deep pink-red colour, which contrasts perfectly with the delicate leaves. The flowers balance on thin stems which provide gentle movement alongside other plants.
This is a hardy perennial plant, but for healthy growth it is important to position the 'Melton Pastels' in a place with lots of sunlight in good garden soil. Prune back to 20 cm every spring. The blooms of the ‘Melton Pastels’ make for lovely displays as a cut flower.
