Nesting Basket For Long Eared Owl
- 35 years experience in biodiversity
- Own production and control of bird foods
- Supporting nature partners across UK and Europe
This attractive woven willow basket is similar to the abandoned nests that Long-eared Owl and Hobby normally use.
There is a shortage of natural nesting sites, which is thought to be one of the major factors behind the decline of some of our once most-common birds, however less common species also face challenges when searching for appropriate breeding and roosting sites. Putting up a specialist nest box can encourage them to breed near your home.
For Long-eared Owls site in the lower half of a tree in woodland or a dense hedgerow near coarse grassland with tussocks; for Hobbies choose the top of a tree near the woodland edge overlooking farmland or a wetland.
