The live webcams are provided thanks to the generous support of the Vogelbescherming Netherlands project 'Beleef de Lente' (you can spot the organization’s emblem in the broadcasts). Throughout the spring, the project receives backing from donations and volunteer efforts.
Camera temporarily suspended until 2026. We look forward to welcoming you back to next year's breeding season!
"The Oystercatcher is a large black and white wading bird. It has a long, orange-reddish bill and reddish-pink legs. Despite their name, oystercatchers eat mainly mussels and cockles as well as limpets, whelks, crabs, worms and occasionally fish.
These birds will breed in almost all UK and Irish coasts, and will lay 2-5 camouflaged eggs which are both incubated by both male and female for 24-35 days. They will then be looked after by both parents, and will fledge around 33 days, however will continue to rely on their parents for food for some time.
