Description

Made from responsibly sourced FSC® materials

Give bats a generous, sheltered place to rest, breed and feel at home with the Causa Extra Large Wooden Bat Box. Designed with four internal chambers, this spacious wooden roost offers bats a choice of cosy crevices, helping to create the varied conditions they need throughout the year.

Bats are fascinating night-time visitors and wonderful allies in the garden, feeding on flying insects as they swoop through the dusk. Sadly, many bat populations have declined as natural roosting and feeding sites have disappeared. By adding a bat box, you can offer valuable extra shelter and help support these remarkable little mammals.

The extra-large design provides plenty of room for bats to gather, while the four chambers encourage natural roosting behaviour and may support breeding. Because bats often move between roosts as the seasons change, this box can become part of a wider network of safe resting places in your garden or outdoor space.

Please be patient: bats can take time to discover and use a new box. If it has not been occupied after around three years, try relocating it to a more suitable spot.

  • Fix to a sturdy tree or building where bats have been seen feeding or flying.
  • Install as high as possible, ideally at least 2-5 m from the ground, with a clear flight path to the entrance.
  • Choose a sheltered position, preferably south or south-west facing, where it receives a few hours of sun.
  • Place near a pond, marshy area or wildlife-friendly garden, where insects are plentiful and bats can drink.
  • Extra-large wooden bat roost box
  • Four internal chambers to encourage roosting and breeding
  • Provides valuable additional shelter for local bats
  • Suitable for mounting on a sturdy tree or building
  • Ideal for wildlife gardens, woodland edges and areas near ponds or wetlands
