At CJ Wildlife, we create products that not only support wildlife but are also made to last. However, everything exposed to the elements will naturally show some wear over time, just as wooden birdhouses may gradually fade due to sun and rain. That’s why we provide a clear guarantee for every product, so you always know exactly what to expect.

How long is the guarantee?

Our guarantee varies by material, as some products simply last longer than others:

  • Wood: 1 year
  • Ceramic: 1 year
  • Plastic: 3 years
  • Metal: 5 years
  • WoodStone: 10 years

This guarantee is provided in addition to your statutory rights.

What does this mean in practice?

If something goes wrong within this period due to a manufacturing or material fault, we’ll be happy to resolve it with you. In some cases, we may replace the entire product, in others, we may only replace the faulty part.

Please email us at sales@birdfood.co.uk with clear photos of the issue and a copy of your invoice, and we will get back to you within 48 hours.

What is not covered by the guarantee?

Our products are carefully made and tested, but some issues fall outside the scope of our guarantee:

  • Normal wear and tear from weather and use (such as discolouration, minor cracks, or warping in wooden products).
  • Damage caused by animals (such as woodpeckers, squirrels, or rodents gnawing).
  • Damage resulting from improper use or maintenance (for example, placing a product in direct contact with water or not cleaning it).
  • Damage caused by modifications (such as painting with unsuitable paint or removing parts).

Our WoodStone® products come with a 10-year guarantee.

WoodStone® is an innovative material made from wood fibres and concrete, combining the natural look of wood with the strength and durability of stone. The result? Nest boxes and insect hotels that are extremely robust, breathable and resistant to weather and rot.

That means your garden animals get a safe, long-lasting home and you get peace of mind for many seasons to come.

What is the warranty on your wooden nest boxes and feeders?

Our wooden nest boxes and feeders come with a standard warranty against manufacturing defects.

We carefully select durable wood and design our products for outdoor use, but as natural materials age over time, exposure to weather will gradually affect the appearance. This is normal and doesn’t affect the function of the product.

With proper care and occasional maintenance, wooden nest boxes and feeders can last for many years in your garden.

Does the guarantee cover squirrel damage?

Our standard plastic feeders are not "squirrel-proof" and damage caused by chewing is generally not covered. However, if you are looking for a feeder that is squirrel-proofed we advise to choose one of our many squirrel resistant bird feeders.

How do I make a claim under my guarantee?

If you believe your product is faulty, please contact our Customer Service team with your original order number and, if possible, a photo of the defect. We will assess the issue and, depending on the situation, provide replacement parts or a complete replacement unit to ensure you can continue supporting your garden wildlife.

Is there a "Money Back Guarantee" if I change my mind?

Yes, we offer a 60-day hassle-free return policy. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return the unused item in its original packaging within 60 days for a full refund or exchange.

Does the 10-year WoodStone® guarantee cover damage from woodpeckers or squirrels?

One of the main benefits of WoodStone® is its durability. Our 10-year guarantee covers the structural integrity of the box, meaning it is resistant to damage from predators like woodpeckers or squirrels who try to chew or drum their way in.

What happens if a part of my feeder breaks outside of the warranty period?

At CJ Wildlife, we promote repair over replace. Even if your warranty has expired, we stock a wide range of spare parts (lids, bases, and ports) for our most popular feeder models. This allows you to fix your feeder at a fraction of the cost of a new one and reduces environmental waste.

Are the electronic components in your "Camera Nest Boxes" covered?

Yes, our camera systems typically come with a 2-year warranty. This covers the camera unit and cables against technical faults. Please note that the warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation or if the cables are chewed by rodents.
