Elwin van der Kolk, the Dutch biologist and natural painter, was fascinated by the nature around him at a young age. He spent a large part of his childhood watching and drawing birds. In his drawings he tries to capture wildlife in such a way that the viewer is encouraged to admire and protect nature.
