Elwin van der Kolk, the Dutch biologist and nature painter, was fascinated by the natural world around him from an early age, and a large part of his childhood was spent watching and drawing birds. In his work he tries to capture nature in a way that encourages the viewer to both admire and protect our precious wildlife.
