Hedgehog House XL

Developed by our nature loving team the hedgehog house XL hosts several features to provide a safe and comfortable space for hedgehogs.  The house comes ready to use with no assembly required. Behind the entrance is an internal tunnel with a 90° angle. This design element prevents predators from entering the house. Additionally, the house is well ventilated from the tunnel to the feet, which raises the house off the ground to promote good air circulation and prevent moisture buildup. The sturdy plywood construction is made from FSC-certified material and ensures excellent resistance to a variety of weather conditions.

Installation Instructions​

Place the Hedgehog House XL in a quiet, sheltered spot in your garden, ensuring the entrance and ventilation openings are shielded from rain, and position it on a firm foundation such as a hard surface or thin stones to prevent sinking, leaving space underneath the base plate to avoid moisture build-up.

Cleaning Instructions​

Cleaning the house when hedgehogs are no longer in hibernation, check for occupants by placing a twig or straw at the entrance—if it falls over, the hedgehog is out. To clean, tilt the smaller part of the house upwards to detach it from the main body, dispose of old nesting material, and scrub with a brush using plenty of water. Ensure the house dries completely before adding new nesting material. Consider cleaning again in mid-October before hedgehogs enter hibernation.
