Uppsala Wren Nest Box

The Uppsala Wren Nest Box is designed to provide wrens with a safe, enclosed nesting space that closely reflects their natural breeding preferences. Wrens favour small, well-protected cavities, and this compact nest box offers the shelter and security they look for when choosing a nesting site.

Wrens are increasingly affected by the loss of natural nesting spaces in gardens and woodland edges. By installing a purpose-designed nest box, you can help replace these lost habitats and support wrens during the breeding season.

This nest box has been developed with guidance from our in-house ornithologists and is made to species-appropriate dimensions. Although designed specifically for wrens, it may also attract other small bird species such as spotted flycatchers and wagtails.

Crafted from a natural birch log, the Uppsala Wren Nest Box blends naturally into the garden and offers excellent insulation. As a natural material is used, each box is unique and dimensions may vary slightly.

For best results, position the nest box in a sheltered, well-hidden spot, ideally among dense vegetation or against a wall or tree trunk. Installing the box ahead of the breeding season allows birds time to explore and settle before nesting begins.
