Starlings are lively, characterful birds that need a little more room than most garden visitors. This traditional wooden Starling nest box has been carefully designed to give them just that, a spacious, secure place to raise their young.

One of its standout features is the extended front, often described as a ‘balcony’. This clever addition helps keep predators at arm’s length, making it far harder for them to reach inside. The result is extra protection for precious eggs and growing chicks, right when they need it most.

Starlings are surprisingly tidy tenants, too. From around 10 days old, the chicks shuffle up to the entrance to deposit their droppings outside the box. It’s nature’s own housekeeping system, helping to keep the nesting chamber cleaner and healthier as they develop.

Crafted from solid pine, the box includes a 45mm entrance hole and a generously sized interior tailored to Starling nesting habits. Measuring 33.5 cm high, 25 cm wide and 32 cm deep, it follows species-specific recommendations to provide the right balance of comfort and space.
