Placement tips for best results

• Install from February onwards, depending on weather conditions.
• Add 2-3 handfuls of straw, hay, reeds or similar nesting material.
• Place where ducks are regularly observed.
• Choose a quiet and sheltered location.
• Mount securely on crossed stakes or a sturdy support structure.
• Allow for seasonal changes in water levels (40-60 cm clearance recommended).
• Position the opening towards open water.
• Ideally face the entrance east, north-east or north to provide protection from prevailing south-westerly wind and rain.
• Slightly tilt the basket backwards to help prevent eggs from rolling out.
• Store the basket at the end of the breeding season to maximise its lifespan.
