New life exploring your garden

Late spring and early summer are when many young animals take their first brave steps into the wider world. Young birds flutter between bushes, tiny hedgehogs begin searching for food, squirrels explore every corner, and butterflies bring colour and movement to the garden.

At this stage, survival is all about learning. Finding food, spotting danger and choosing safe shelter all take practice. Dry weather, fewer natural food sources and overly tidy gardens can make life harder for young wildlife. By offering fresh water, quiet wildlife-friendly corners and energy-rich food, you can support them through this important season.
